Sunday, May 18 at Wilbur Young Park in Blue Springs, MO 
The 3rd Annual Pooches on the Parkway benefiting the Blue Springs off-leash dog park will be held on Sunday, May 18th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Wilbur Young Park, 1200 SE Adams Dairy Parkway,Blue Springs, MO (adjacent to Blue Springs South High School).

Free admission to the exhibit areas and most of the dog contests and games. There will be a 1, 2 & 3 mile Fun Walk beginning at 1:00 pm. Registration is $18 prior to May 12th or $24 after May 12th.

Additional events/programs will be an Agility Clinic ($8 prior registration, $12 same day sign-up) & Canine Good Citizen Tests ($4 prior registration, $6 same day sign-up) and owners can have their dogs tagged with a Microchip Implant ID for $20.

There will also be demonstrations, dog games & contests, dog-related products and service booths, and concessions.

Sunday, June 8 on the Country Club Plaza
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is hosting their annual Dog-n-Jog which is Kansas City’s largest dog run/walk and one of the region’s largest as well. The event includes a two and one-mile run and a two and one-mile walk.  Dogs of all breeds and sizes will have a great time enjoying a leisurely stroll or fierce competition. The Dogs’ Spot will be on hand providing Dog Agility and Canine Freestyle demonstrations.  For a small donation you can participate in Agility Workshops and Canine Good Citizen Evaluations. Sunday, June 29 at No More Homeless Pets KC in Merriam, KS
KC Dog Trainers and the Olathe Animal Hospital is hosting an educational event for veterinarians and their staff. Dr. JC Burcham will talk on the Role of the Veterinary Community in Addressing Problematic Dog Behavior. The seminar will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at No More Homeless Pets KC's spay and neuter clinic located at 5428 Antioch Drive, Merriam, KS. In addition, 3 CEUs will be awarded to participants both from both the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board.

The seminar is free and lunch will be provided, but pre-registration is required and spots are limited.

The Companion Animal Parasite Council will host an entertaining community educational event, which will feature The Dogs' Spot's new performance group, The Dogs' Spot - Dog Stars.

The event will run from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with special show times of 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
The dog's and their handlers will show off their agility and freestyle moves, in addition to a wide variety of tricks.

There will also be some items given away and the opportunity to win a trip to an exotic location!

Bring your pet’s favorite toy, bedding, or other item; different backgrounds will be available to choose from.

The second Wednesday of each month  
Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens for Pets sponsors a Pet Grief Recovery Group open to anyone grieving or trying to prepare for the death of an animal companion. The goal is to aid in the grief recovery process by allowing people to talk about the pain of this unique loss with others who understand how they feel. The Group meets at Rolling Acres Memorial Gardens for Pets on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm.

The first and third Monday of each month  
For those mourning the loss of a pet, preparing for the loss of a pet or would like to help someone grieving the loss of a pet, there is a Pet Grief Support Group that meets on the first & third Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. in the Heritage Room of the Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 W. 47th Street, Kansas City, MO.
