Reactive Dog

Dogs who struggle with leash reactivity - big emotions in normal everyday situations - can be helped! We will show you how to teach your dog new management and coping skills and help them learn they are safe in these situations. If we can change the way they feel, we will change the way they behave.

My dad and I brought one of our doggos to The Dogs’ Spot for reactive dog training. I nearly cried because I finally felt that I could do something to help me better help my dog.

Class was taught by 2 trained & certified instructors who themselves had reactive dogs. I REALLY loved the methodologies of positive reinforcement. My dog isn’t perfect, but neither am I. The skills learned in the Reactive Dog I class were crucial in our interactions.

REACTIVE DOG I

Tuesday, June 4th, at 6:30 pm with KJ Thies and Kaitlin Oliviera - this class is FULL

Tuesday, June 4th, at 8:00 pm with KJ Thies and Kaitlin Oliviera

Cost: $399

Reactivity includes behaviors such as barking, lunging, growling, and snapping on leash. This behavior often baffles many dog owners, especially when they otherwise have a social dog that enjoys playing with other dogs off leash (but not always the case). The focus of this class will be identifying the motivations behind the behavior, calming techniques, management techniques, confidence building, and provide you with an introduction to exercises you can apply and practice to modify your dog's behavior. This class is an affordable alternative to private training, while keeping a very high student to instructor ratio.

The first class is a Reactive Dog class specific Orientation and is conducted without your dog.

I have a reactive dog. She loses her mind every time we come across another dog. Greg at the dog spot has made major breakthroughs with her. I give the training center a 10 star rating out of 5!!!

REACTIVE DOG II

Tuesday, July 30th, at 8:00 pm with KJ Thies and Kaitlin Oliviera

Cost: $399

Reactive Dog II is a continuation of Reactive Dog I. Because of this, no orientation is required so all classes are with dogs. In this 6-week class, we will continue to work on behavior modification exercises. The goal by the end of the class will be to work without barriers, but every dog and handler will work at their own pace. The class has a maximum of five dogs with two instructors.
