K9’s At The Cove

On our final day before draining the pool we're giving it to the dogs! Join us at Splash Cove with the four legged friends in your family. With proceeds benefiting the MoKan Greyhound Adoption organization, this event will give you the opportunity to have a fun play date at the pool with your dog. Space is limited, so preregistration is required. Dogs of all sizes can swim at 7:15am; Dogs over 35lbs can swim at 8:15am; dogs under 35lbs can swim at 9:15am; and dogs of all weights can swim at 10:15am! All dogs must be current on their shots/vaccinations as well as follow proper dog park etiquette. For more information call 913-742-6404.

PRCKC’s Second Annual Mutts & Movies

Held at the iconic Boulevard Drive-In Theatre, the event brings together pet lovers, local vendors, and rescue groups for an evening of community, entertainment, and support for animals in need.
From 6–8 PM, we’ll kick things off with an Animal WelFair—a lively showcase of booths/vendors, games, and activities. After brief announcements, the movie will begin ~8:30 PM under the stars. The movie selection is up to YOU in our new bracket style poll – you’ll receive a link after purchasing your ticket to vote!
This is a fundraising event, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward supporting our mission: keeping pets healthy, safe, and with the families who love them.

Join us after Labor Day on September 8th to wrap up the pool season with your furry friends! Bring your dog for a swim before we close for the season.
Sessions: 5:30–6:15 PM (dogs under 25 lbs) | 6:30–7:15 PM (all other dogs)

All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations, which can be submitted online during registration.

Your adventure begins at Mixed Mutt & Company, where you'll receive your race passport and set off on a one-of-a-kind journey through the Square. Along the way, you'll discover interactive challenges, surprises, photo moments, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate the special bond between dogs and their humans.

Trick-or-treating is for pups too! Join Smithville Parks and Recreation and Clay County Parks on October 3rd for Howl-O-Ween! No registration is required to attend the event. This event is free to the community. SPR provides pup cups (whipped cream), a photobooth, and a costume contest for all participants with prizes. This event is rain or shine!
In the case of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled due to ground conditions in that area.

Dress your pups in costume for a day out at Waggin’ Trail Dog Park! Pups can participate in a costume contest, raffle, meet with dog vendors, and more. With a $5 or item donation each dog will receive a trick-or-treat bag and entry to the costume contest. No children under the age of 5 allowed inside the designated dog area. All dogs must be accompanied by owner while inside dog park.

Sponsorships are available in a wide range of options, and proceeds raised will support MCC-Maple Woods student activities, programs and scholarships.
This event is appropriate for ALL ages and will be canceled upon inclement weather.
Wolf Den Food Pantry food drive
In the spirit of giving, we're also hosting a food drive to support our campus food pantry.
We recommend bringing grab-and-go items – preferably those that do not require a can opener (ex: granola bars, microwaveable meals, crackers, fruit cups, beef jerky, trail mix, ramen, etc.) or household products (ex: laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc.).
