Free event, Dr. Emily McLeod has been a board certified, licensed chiropractor since 2000 and a board certified animal chiropractor since 2004. Combining her love for animals and her passion for chiropractic care was only natural! Dr. M will discuss the "Why behind the madness" of chiropractic care for animals, how to know when your dog needs chiropractic care, and how to choose a qualified animal chiropractor. Dr. McLeod cares for both large and small animals so each week she can be found adjusting dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, and more!

 

The Dogs’ Spot Speaker Series Presents Leia Barrett Helping Odd Dogs Feel at Home: The Odd Dog and the 3/3/3 Rule

Join us to hear local author Leia Barrett read her book The Odd Dog and gain an introduction to the 3/3/3 Rule.

The Odd Dog is a beautifully illustrated children’s book about a rescue dog learning to live with a family for the first time. Inspired by her own rescue, Layla, who has been a student of The Dogs' Spot, The Odd Dog is dedicated to all the rescues who have found where they belonged. Books will be available for purchase and signing, and a portion of all sales goes to rescues and shelters.

The Dogs’ Spot Speaker Series Presents Julie Goodman on What it Takes to Become a Therapy Animal Team

Free event, Julie Goodman will share what a Therapy Animal is and how to become a Therapy Animal Team. Julie has been a volunteer with Pet Partners for over 15 years. She is currently a Licensed Instructor and Licensed Team Evaluator. She and her Standard Poodle, Jordon, a Registered Therapy Animal, made over 500 visits to hospitals, nursing homes, schools and libraries. Julie is currently serving with her partner Mo, a Cream Standard Poodle.

Since 1977, Pet Partners has registered and supported thousands of volunteer therapy animal teams who have made millions of meaningful visits around the world that help improve the physical, social, and emotional lives of both the people and animals involved.
